Expanding Academic Ties with Karachi

Meeting Between the Director of International Affairs of Imam Reza International University and the Head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Karachi
During a meeting between Dr. Davoodi and Mr. Talebinia, Head of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, discussions were held on the potential for academic and cultural collaboration between Imam Reza International University, Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, and universities in Karachi. Additionally, opportunities for attracting students from Pakistan to study in Qom and Mashhad were explored.
Dr. Davoodi emphasized that the purpose of this meeting was to expand academic and cultural cooperation in Karachi, a city with a significant Shia population. He introduced the university and expressed its readiness for collaboration, highlighting that Imam Reza International University, as a comprehensive institution, and Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, in addition to admitting international students, have the capacity to enroll students in Islamic sciences. He also noted that during this trip, they met with Mr. Rashid Siddiqui, a prominent Pakistani philanthropist and businessman, who could play a key role in supporting scholarships for talented Pakistani students.
Mr. Talebinia, referring to Karachi’s academic and cultural needs—such as Persian language education, academic and cultural workshops, book and article publication, and establishing connections between Astan Quds universities and Karachi’s institutions—emphasized the necessity of academic and cultural support for the city’s Shia community.
🔹 It is noteworthy that Dr. Davoodi, accompanied by a cultural delegation from the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, traveled to Karachi to participate in the International Conference and Exhibition on Sustainable Tourism.
