Library and information Center
The Library and Information Center of Imam Reza International University began operating in October 2003, coinciding with the opening of the university’s main building at its current location on Asrar Street. It started with a modest collection of resources, occupying an area of nearly 700 square meters.
The library’s collection is organized according to the Library of Congress Classification system. Since its inception, all operational activities related to information resources and member services have been managed using the comprehensive library software called Pars Azarakhsh, known as DigiLib. In 2020, the latest updated version of this software, under the name Azarsa, enabled many library functions and services to be accessible online.
In 2012, alongside the establishment of the Rezvan branch and in line with its founding goals, Rezvan Library was equipped and launched as a branch of the Asrar Library and Information Center to provide students with easy access to educational, academic, and research resources. This collection is regularly updated and expanded, also adhering to the Library of Congress Classification system.
In line with the university’s educational and research policies, the development and expansion of the library’s collection focus on acquiring academic and research resources needed by faculty and students, aligned with existing academic disciplines and new fields of study. Through purchasing, collection building, and enhancing the library’s resources in various fields with an emphasis on the quality of resources, the library has accumulated a rich collection of printed books in management, library science, computer science, accounting, sports sciences, law, psychology and counseling, electrical engineering, and other academic fields, creating a conducive environment for up-to-date learning and conducting research projects.
With the expansion of academic programs and the subsequent increase in student admissions at the graduate level, access to and subscriptions for electronic resources, especially articles, theses, and databases, became a priority. Currently, the library system of Imam Reza International University offers a diverse range of information resources, including subscriptions to and access to Farsi databases, Farsi and Latin books, Farsi and Latin CDs, graduate theses, and various methods of sourcing non-Farsi resources from major databases. The library provides a range of in-person and online services to students, faculty, and researchers, making it one of the best private university libraries.
