Signing MoUs with Iraqi Universities

Signing of multiple Memorandum of Understanding(MoUs) Between Imam Reza International University and Several Iraqi Universities During the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week in Karbala
According to the Public Relations Office of Imam Reza International University, during the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week held in the holy city of Karbala, and with the presence of Dr. Morteza Rajai, President of Imam Reza International University, multiple scientific, educational, and research cooperation agreements were signed between Imam Reza International University and several Iraqi universities, including the University of Karbala, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Middle Technical University, Al-Zahraa University, Al-Muthanna University, Al-Shatrah University, and Al-Iraqia University.
The University of Karbala is a public university located in the holy city of Karbala. Established in 2002, it operates under the supervision of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The university comprises various faculties, including Medicine, Engineering, Islamic Sciences, Management, Agriculture, and Basic Sciences.
Recognized for its focus on scientific research and international collaborations, the University of Karbala is one of the leading academic institutions in southern Iraq. To enhance academic and research cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Saban Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, and Dr. Morteza Rajai, President of Imam Reza International University.
Additionally, as part of the Iran-Iraq Science Week programs, Imam Reza International University signed scientific cooperation agreements with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and Al-Iraqia University, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Iraq and the Head of the International Scientific Cooperation Center of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is a public university in Baghdad that focuses on technical and vocational education. It is one of Iraq’s four technical universities and operates under the Technical Education Authority of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Al-Iraqia University is another public university located in Baghdad, Iraq’s capital. Established in 1989, it is supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq. The university consists of multiple faculties in Humanities, Islamic Studies, Engineering, Medicine, Basic Sciences, and Management, making it one of the prominent academic institutions in Iraq due to its diverse educational and research programs.
The signing of scientific and research cooperation agreements between Imam Reza International University and Al-Shatrah University and Al-Muthanna University was another significant initiative during the Iran-Iraq Science Week in Karbala.
Al-Muthanna University is a public university located in Samawah, the capital of Al-Muthanna Province. Established in 2007, it is recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and comprises 18 faculties.
Al-Shatrah University is a public university situated in the city of Al-Shatrah, in Dhi Qar Province, Iraq. The university offers various academic programs and plays a vital role in training specialized professionals for the region.
Another highlight of the event was a scientific consultation meeting and the signing of an MoU between Imam Reza International University and Al-Zahraa University of Karbala, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS). The meeting was attended by Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University, and Dr. Morteza Rajai, President of Imam Reza International University.
Given the commonalities between the two institutions and their affiliation with the Sacred Shrines, the expansion of scientific and cultural cooperation, as well as the utilization of both universities’ capacities to serve the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and the Astan Quds Razavi, were emphasized.
The meeting also highlighted the execution of joint programs between the Women’s Campus of Imam Reza International University and Al-Zahraa University.
Al-Zahraa University is a non-governmental university affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and exclusively dedicated to women’s education. It operates under the supervision of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and focuses on the education and empowerment of women in various academic fields. As one of the key institutions for women’s education in Iraq, it plays a crucial role in enhancing the scientific, cultural, and intellectual capabilities of Iraqi women.
It is noteworthy that the Second Iran-Iraq Science and Technology Week was hosted by Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, bringing together 75 top universities from Iran and Iraq, along with heads of science and technology parks and representatives from Iranian research centers. The three-day event was held in Karbala, with Imam Reza International University playing an active role as one of the leading Iranian universities in this prestigious gathering.
