Imam Reza International University Delegation Participates in the International Conference on Arbaeen Pilgrimage

A distinguished delegation from Imam Reza International University, headed by Dr. Daneshifar, President of the University, participated in the opening ceremony of the International Conference on “Arbaeen Pilgrimage: A Civilizational Message in the Era of Digital Transformation”, held at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
The university delegation also made a significant academic contribution to the conference through the presentation of three research papers addressing the religious, sociological, international, and technological dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
Dr. Daneshifar, President of Imam Reza International University, presented a paper entitled “Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Religious Rituals: Reconsidering the Arbaeen Pilgrimage from the Perspectives of Sociology, Tradition Studies, and Qur’anic Hermeneutics.” His presentation explored the implications of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence for religious rituals and examined the Arbaeen pilgrimage through sociological, traditional, and Qur’anic hermeneutical perspectives.
Dr. Davoodi, Director of International Affairs at Imam Reza International University, presented his paper entitled “Astan Quds Razavi and the Holy Shrines in Iraq: Models for Pilgrimage Diplomacy and International Engagement.” His presentation highlighted the potential of pilgrimage as a platform for strengthening international relations and promoting cultural, academic, and institutional cooperation.
Furthermore, Dr. Ghazikhani, Faculty Member of the Department of Computer Engineering at Imam Reza International University, presented a paper entitled “An Edge AI Framework at Corridor Scale for Crowd Management and Behavioral Analysis during Arbaeen.” The presentation examined the application of edge artificial intelligence in crowd management and behavioral analysis, with a focus on developing technological approaches to improve the management of large-scale pilgrim gatherings during Arbaeen.
The active academic participation of Imam Reza International University in this international conference reflects the University’s commitment to advancing scholarly dialogue on pilgrimage, strengthening international and cultural diplomacy, and exploring innovative technological solutions for understanding and managing large-scale religious gatherings.
